I used to have a Maytag top loader. When it croaked, I decided to
take the plunge and get a front loader. At the time, about 6 years
ago, Consumer Reports rated the Maytag Neptune as THE BEST. IT IS.
Less water and less detergent is used, but MORE clothes can be put in
the front loader. Clothes seem to get cleaner and the spin-dry is
better than the top loader. It NEVER goes off-kilter. I will always
buy a front loader. I bought the companion Neptune dryer and I love
that too.
