I am also concerned about the negative advertising to the general public by performing the TE at all breed shows. Look around our membership is aging fast and we need new members. The all breed shows are excellant opprotunities to recruit exhibitors. If the public preceives that we have a problem in our breed why get a German Shepherd? The only true way to improve temperament is to stop breeding to spooks. Anyone that uses a dog without meeting the dog and doing your own temperament test is asking for problems. Showing is much more fun when you do not have to hold your breath during the exam, but how many judges feel that they cannot determine temperament without the loose lead evaluation. The eyes tell everything folks and the judge has the best opprotunity to observe the reaction of the dog. What is gained by the loose lead? A dog can stand it's ground and still exhibit fear-eyes rolling, trembling-Kris ----- Original Message ----- From: <Pinehillgsds@xxxxxxx> To: <chsweetsun@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: <showgsd-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 27, 2005 8:11 AM Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] was temperment - why test > > In a message dated 2/26/2005 11:06:43 P.M.
