Do you think that because so many of the Specialty Judges are also breeders, that the person that shows mostly in all breeds is intimidated? Would you place a dog you felt worthy of of the specialty ring in the hands of a person that only shows in All Breeds? Terry Terry, A good dog with a competent handler should win in either venue. The answer to your question, as far as I am concerned, is yes. If he feels intimidated at all it would be because. more than likely, the dog will be evaluated differently. Specialty Judges, I believe, have different priorities. They interpet the standard with a different understanding of the written word. That understanding can only come with hands on experience over a period of many years. There are no over night wonders when it comes to properly judging the German Shepherd.
