I LOVE long coats, especially for breeding. I had a long coat Mazarati Dau
that I bred to Sel. CH. Hagar vom Sonnenbachtal ROM-who remembers Hagar the
Horrible? I got the most beautiful litter and two most stunning bitches. I
did get a lot of coats, but he carried it and I knew it. I was looking for
a couple good ones and I got them. The coats were spactacular movers.
She was the best brood bitch I ever had, I wish I had her back. She also
lived to be 15.
Whoever was asking, keep the coat for breeding. If you don't, call me!
Carol

I kept a solid-black coat out of my last litter because I lost her mother
from c-section complications. She has a super pedigree, beautiful
conformation, temperament to die for, her feet barely touch the ground when
she moves, gorgeous ear set, undeniably feminine...and intelligent beyond
description. She is one special bitch. I can't show her in conformation
but I can't wait to see what she produces. I have never regretted keeping
her! I had previously asked this list about keeping a long coat.
Unanimously, I was told to keep her! I am so glad I did!

My first champion, group winning bitch was out of a long coat bitch. Yes
you can breed your coated bitch to a male that doesn't carry the coat
factor, but I believe the puppies would then have a possiblity of carrring
the coat factor themselves. So this would be something you would have to
factor into your decision.

I personally wouldn't think twice about keeping a long coat for breeding, if

that was pick of the litter and had a great pedigree.

Debbie
