Zoa, I agree, I truly believe that many of the YES votes would vote NO if they had the opportunity. I've been on the board for some very high pressure votes, and have made wrong decisions also. Sometimes one argument will override your common sense and mistakes happen. Sometime you get the opportunity to correct such votes, sometimes not. I believe the anger is caused primarily by frustration, and I doubt it is personal. Such anger will, I'm sure abate, as soon as the Board demonstrates willingness to revisit and correct the situation. There is ample justification to revisit that vote. I'm sure Lew must be working to find the best solution. Regards, Dick Whalen ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In a message dated 2/8/2007 6:20:52 A.M. I just have to believe that at least one YES voter will come forward and rescue our club and our reputation. I can't believe any of them really wanted Hunte in the club, and I'll bet most of them would welcome an opportunity to revisit the vote. Meanwhile, I am starting to get very concerned about the level of anger (including my own) that has been hurled at half of our board. Even though I don't know most of these people personally, I have known them both by reputation and by random acts of kindness that have come my way for many years. These are not evil people! I would vote for most of them again! It was a mistakie. Let's undo it and move on. This is my last post on the subject. I want to spend my time congratulating new champions, ROMs, litters, OFAs, etc and talking about electric water buckets. That is why I am on this list...not to criticize. The President declares the vote "Null and Void" because of the violations of GSDCA Bylaws, and Roberts Rules of Order. a. the Executive Session was not properly constituted with a motion, second and vote. b. the vote was not taken in accordance with the Bylaws. 2. At least one of the Yes voters may request a vote to reconsider. (in writing) a. The President can then call a meeting and discussion and reconsideration vote using electronic means, either email or conference call. 3. Such action will get this disaster behind us, so the real work of the club can proceed. Of course, a revote is futile unless the President is reasonably assured that the No's would prevail.
