It's official - both my bitches - kenneled side-by-side who came into heat on the EXACT same day - are in whelp. Now, if I'd bred one or the other, instead of both, I'd probably be looking at no puppies. One of these bitches missed the last time she was bred and this is her last breeding before I retire her. So, I rolled the dice, bred them both and now I'll have two winter litters - in Maine no less. Luckily, I have two whelping rooms in the house and plenty of tiled floor in the family room for puppies to play. And, I can't do much else in the snow and cold so I guess I'll sit home and play with babies. I'm just praying that they don't go into whelp at the same time - not sure what I'll do if that happens! When I no longer enjoy the babies, that's when I'll get out of dogs. In the meantime, I'm still having fun.
