I was wondering if there is a reason why it does not direct me to interstate 40 in Barstow to New Mexico and then north/east to Topeka. Both paths seem to be just about the same mileage. Tedi and I took the Barstow way to go to Oklahoma. It is an easy drive, little traffic and clear roads. There is a great rest stop just inside Texas with a museum of 50s automobile you should not miss. Also stop to stand on the corner in Windslow, Arizona. We made it to Oklahoma City in two easy days and it was about another two hours into Kansas City. I would suggest the 40 route. It is old Route 66, and they remind you of that at every stop.
