[ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: think we need to comment?

The names of those who have jumped on that bandwagon grows, but DeGeneris was
there before. (Remember the hoopla about the rescue dog she gave to somebody
and the rescue people had a "catfit?" Everybody is rushing to get shelter dogs
and get some PR out of it! AND, before anybody jumps up and down at me, I
BELIEVE that getting a dog from rescue or a shelter is great...I've done it and
had a fantastic family dog for as long as she lived. However, this recent
phenomenon is more of the pressure of the ARs NOT to buy from breeders... it
becomes immoral!!!! Even my doctor, who knows and asks about my GSDs, told me
she had a new dog, but "he's a rescue, of course." It was the "of course" that
makes the difference. Of course a rescue and not a bad breeder.

put off. She has Brian Williams on, TV anchor who showed pics of his shelter
dog Lucy, clearly a white GSD and advocated to people to not get a "fluffy"
purebred, get a rescue dog instead. Ellen's comment was you can see the look
of gratitude from a rescue dog instead of some purebred. Have we knew
people jumping on with our AR's here or simply uninformed?
