Gary, I would like to add what I learned many moons ago in art class. There are two ways to describing black and white as colors. Therefore it depends on which method you are visualizing the "color" of black or white. Color as light: (a prism of light projects a rainbow of all colors). Black is not a color. White is a color. Color as pigment or molecular coloring agent: Black is a color. White is not a color.
