Years ago, when I was on the board, the board started a trend of hiring
people to do what had been done for free prior to that time. The one I
remembered
was some treasurer functions, that Tom Sherman had been doing.
There are a number of functions that club members could and would do, and
we need to continue to investigate that, and try to get away from paying
outsiders to do it. The Futurity catalogues might be a good beginning.
I know Nancy will take notice and consider anything that saves money for the
club.
This is a great topic for our board, and I know they will start to
investigate it. When the audit does come out this year, (and it always is
available) I
invite anyone willing to work for the GSDCA to consider what they can do,
and to contact the board and volunteer to do so. We all need to work for our
club, not just ask what it does for us.
