There is no steadfast rule on which adult teeth will be present if all
deciduous teeth are present or if some are missing. The only way to check on
how many teeth your puppy will have is an adult, before they cut through the
gums is to do dental xrays. A lot of vets now have this and they can xray all
the teeth to determine which are sitting in the gums and which are missing.
This is a little quicker than sitting on a dog and running on it to see what
happens, but you have to spend a little more money.
