If this ever happens to anyone again, contact ADOA. They helped me
immensly as to who to contact, what to write and eventually I was
reimbursed not only for the Vet bill but the entire flight.
The airline had switched her to another flight, told me that she was in
one place when in fact she was in another, allowed her to be shipped by
the irresponsible owner(I had placed the dog with her and was ordering
her back) in a crate too small for her and the airline IS responsible
to see that the dog can stand up and turn around in a crate. She was
in a crate without ever getting out for 14 hours and she torsioned when
I got her. Thankfully we were able to save her. The airline came to
measure the crate and take pictures of it and the dog standing beside
the crate etc. It was written up as failure of the airline to follow
procedure and after a few of these, they get fined big time.
