People are so stupid. The owner of the doodle mutt should be apologizing to
your friend for letting her dog get in their yard and chasing her daughter. I
agree with getting a fence. She may not have needed it before, but she does
now! As unfair as it is, no matter what happens, the GSD always seems to get
the blame just because it is a GSD! grrrrr

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] suggestions
A friend of mine just had a incident where a new neighbors labradoodle chased
her daughter. Her GSD defended her child and chased the dog back into it's yard
and corrected it. There was no major damage to the doodle. In addition the
doodle has also impeded her mother from getting to her car and run around her
house making a ass of it's self, barking continuously. Now that her GSD thumped
on the doodle, her neighbors are threatening her, claiming her GSD is violent
and likely to eat all the kids in the neighborhood. She has four kids of her
own, and two GSD's, one bred by me and another from good working lines. The
female who chased the doodle is 8 years old has never shown any aggression.
I've met the dog and she is the typical GSD, easy going and laid back with her
kids but watchful over them. I suggested she give the dog a steak and then file
a formal complaint about the doodle chasing her daughter. I also suggested she
talk to all her other
neighbors and get statements to
the affect that the dog has never shown any aggression before. I also
suggested she get her lawyer involved. I told her to stand up and not let her
be flomoxed by the new neighbor. Can anyone add any words of wisdom? Anja
