Ginger, You hit the nail on the head in your first sentence. Thank You.
Barring accidents or emergencies most of them ARE sick and do need the
'magic' of scientists and modern medicine to keep them living longer .
TG, for us only an emergency or needing a health certificate for travel,
is the vet expenses we have except for mandatory Rabies vax every 3 years
.
(Sure looking forward to the 6 or 7 year vax to be released which could be
this year or next according to my vet.)
Most dogs do live long lives on *kibble*. agreed.
MY decision was to NOT feed *kibble* after studying a lot of available
medical information and I will never go back. Still learning every day.
My dogs are healthy physically and mentally doing what Mother Nature designed
them to do.
MY decision right ? Does this make you feel guilty too? Why should it?
Why all the guilty words coming from so many posters on this?
How would 'guilt' play into the fact that things could be better ?
Why are people in such a big hurry take offense right away before they
think.
No one has to trash anyone's ideas when a question has been answered the best
a poster knows how.
How would you feel if your Doctor told you that you were feeding an
inappropriate diet to your children or spouse.
Guilt maybe???
What would you do with the information given you ?????
Absorb it -or- storm out of the office screaming at the DR. while slamming
the door ?
Ginger,You are very special with all the needs you have for so many dogs but
it still does not make me wrong , does it ? Why ? Does it make you wrong ?
Never.
We all do the best we can on this earth with what we have .
OTOH , What we choose not to -or- cannot manage does not change the Facts.
IN THE BIGINNING .......... I simply answered the question of a lister here

So what is all this guilty crap coming from? hmm?

Food, and what you feed your dog is YOUR choice, and don't let anyone make
you feel "guilty" for not doing it the way they do. I had a 17 YEAR old
Sheltie that did quite well on kibble every day thank you very much. In fact
she would have lived several more years if the airline hadn't killed her.
I do not have the time, nor the inclination to mess with feeding a "raw"
diet. Nor do I have the money. I REFUSE to pay $35 plus for a bag of corn
based dog food. Even if I did just have one dog. I go through 50 pounds of
dog food a week here. More when I have temporary "visitors". I like the dog
food I am feeding, and the dogs are doing well on it. So in no way will
anyone make me feel "guilty" because of it.
