Susan -
If you read my post, you'll see that I said "IF it's true." The
information was sent to me by someone who received it from another
breeder. I know that we have been
able to access show records, etc., for some years now, and I also know
that it is possible to obtain certain information on other dogs (dogs
the inquiring party doesn't own).
That, too, has been possible for some years. We also didn't have to
sign up for it--it was just there.
I have used the on-line information in the past, for my own dogs,
because that is all that interested me. However, the person who wrote
this claimed that she obtained
information on dogs she did not own, or register...and that information
has not been available in the past. The additional information, such as
breeding records, etc., was
announced by the AKC to everyone a few months ago, but nothing was said
about being able to access other people's registration or breeding
records, as this person has
stated. I hope her statements are incorrect. That is why I prefaced
the quote with what I thought was an expression of disbelief and
discontent about
what she said.
