To do so, and eliminate any because they are not to the liking of the nominating committee is tantamount to the election being held then and there by the committee. I am more familiar with a system in which the committee simply decides on the qualifications of the candidate and if they match the requirements. That's all. The exception to this is when a committee is charged with bringing a slate to the table of one candidate for each office. That's my take on that outside of our club, at least.
