To me, it does not matter how big/small the dog is(within reason, of course). What does matter is the proportions of the dog and how well he/she moves. Personally, I like a substantial male, and a female needs to have enough body to support a good sized litter of puppies. So , no spindly, snipey dogs for me. Give me a male that looks like a male, and a female that looks like a female, and if they are proportioned correctly, they should be able to move as well. I never could understand the "size" part of our standard. A good dog is a good dog and a judge will put up the dog that measures up to his/her idea of the ideal GSD. No one person sees it the same way, that is the nature of the "art" of judging, to me.
