BIG TIME TNX FOR SHARING --- Norma no L ----- Original Message ----- From: <culzeans1@xxxxxxx> To: <showgsd-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 27, 2011 3:52 PM Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: showgsd-l Digest V5 #959 I want to say it was a pleasure to meet you Val! It was nice to meet your assistant Bethanie, she is great. Thank you for sharing your shade!! I agree the am futurity was fun to watch and Heather did a great job judging it. I like the am futurity show. I am trying to get my granddaughter to go stay with Val for the summer but at 17 she is wanting to spend the summer working 2 jobs to buy a car, her parents told her she had to come up with some of the money. Go figure. I met some great people, saw some great dogs...I would love to snag the RWD of the futurity Wyndean's Rafeal De Vici, he was my favorite, except for my Mac who decided to not show when he was in the ring. Oh well it didn't matter, it was his first specialty, we mostly show at all breeds, it was just a fun fun time. I had breakfast Sunday with Bob and Darlene Ghigleri and Greg E and they were very nice. I met Hazel Parks when she was rounding up her red sable male pup whom I would also take home! this is my sec ond futurity and I hope it is not my last. Oklahoma put on a good show. Thank you for all your hard work. Val you do a great job competing! You add a lot to this breed, your herding cllinics, your helping jrs, the good dogs you have. Thank you too! Pam Msg: #1 in digest ubject: Thanks Pards for the Hospitality & Oklahoma Amateur Futu ate: Mon, 23 May 2011 18:43:35 -0400 rom: terranorte@xxxxxxx What a fun weekend - I left home in flannel lined jeans, my favorite Bogs caked n fresh mud, and lined rain jacket on Thursday night and was able to shed my olorado spring togs for shorts, shades and sandals. Friday morning in Kansas - he warm weather was closer at hand. When we pulled into OK City on Friday fternoon - it was like going on a tropical vacation. Warm, breezy (at home we ave wind), and pleasant enough to bathe dogs outside in shorts. n Friday night - my assistant Bethanie and I ate dinner at a local Italian estaurant within walking distance of the show site called Portifino's. xcellent fare and very reasonably priced. The homemade pasta was fabulous! aturday morning we prepped for the first of the two shows. These shows were the irst speciality experience for the 4 girls we brought and for Bethanie. She is college student who has been helping me at dog shows for 5 years now, but ever at a speciality. What a change in mindset. Instead of insisting on manners nd no pulling - we are now encouraging rowdy behavior. Both the dogs and ethanie seemed to enjoy the change in atmosphere. ad a really great day sitting in the shade and watching the dogs run around the ing. Our girls, while not in the money - had a good time being part of the eople and their enjoyed their chances to show. Special Thanks to Oklahoma City nd Tulsa clubs who pitched in to make the exhibitors feel welcomed and well ed! Lots of food and drink available all day for three days. aturday night - Bethanie and I tried the Cimarron Steakhouse, located a long lock from the host hotel. My T-bone was excellent and complete with good ervice and ambiance. n Sunday - it was Futurity Day. Bright blue skies and singing birds greeted the how site. First off was the Amateur Fut/Mat classes. It is so hard to compete gainst the accomplished professional handlers who run their legs off daily and as been working with their charges consistently to insure appropriate ehavior..... but it is also so hard to compete against these jrs. who run their egs off daily and work with their dogs consistently..... may have to ask for he "over 25 with wild hooligans'" class. I am fortunate to say that after unning around the ring successfully a few times for the class and then for the inals, managing not to fall down or drop the leash, Mrs. Miller pointed to my irl: Mar Haven's Evanglina of Terra Norte' for Amateur Best in Futurity. Thank ou for seeing Lena's attributes despite my handling and presentation. Also hank you to Carolyn Martello for sending this black & tan bundle of energy to olorado. pecial kudos to the Southwestern region for taking on the mantel and offering he Amateur classes. The long drive home was much lighter with a big fancy ribbon, beautiful plaques nd a good start on my tan ...... ~ Val Manning Terra Norte' GSD Rancho Terra Norte' Wellington, CO ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2011.
