FINALLY!!!!!! goldens are beautiful, wonderful dogs - those who choose to
have them should work hard to protect and perpetuate the integrity of their
breed. a GSD is NOT a golden - SHOULD not be a golden - and a sound GSD is 
a
thing of beauty, mentally and physically.

In this day and age with BSL we should ALL be very worried and concerned 
about how our dogs are precieved. aloof can often times be confused with a 
temperment flaw. familys want a friendly family dog. just because the dog 
has a golden type temperment does not mean that the dog is less smart, less 
physicaly able. JMO

 Kerri: you have a valid point. People who share that opinion, between The GS 
Breed and Goldens,  are better off buying a Golden. Our Neighbor across the 
street has two of them and we have grown quite fond of the male,. Jackson!!! He 
 has been out and about since he was 4 months old.. 
  He adores everyone who comes to see him and he often escapes looking for 
company. He would hop right in anyone's car and go merrily down the road with 
them, without ever looking back.  
  He is 'EVERY MAN'S DOG'  no doubt. Give him a treat and throw his stick for 
him and he is Happy as a Dog can possibly be..
We love  him and  have rescued him many times  when he escapes.. he always 
runs over here wagging his tail looking for a 'Good Time!!' and he  is totally 
lacking any loyalty to his owners.. He loves them equally with everyone else. 
They have had him since he was 8 weeks old... he is now 5 years old..They 
haven't any worries about him ever being considered aggressive or dangerous....
He is strictly 'A GoodTime Charlie"... 
The  Direct Opposite  of a Guard/Defend/Protect Breed. 
A very Charming and lovable and carefree soul!! barb Williams
