What is "reasonable" to me may be ridiculously cheap to someone else or maybe even expensive to another person. When I was looking for my first German Shepherd back in 1987, a well known breeder quoted me $1200 for a puppy who had yet to be born. I was *appalled* at the price, it seemed WAY over the top. Now, I would consider $1200 for a puppy from lines that I like to be CHEAP. So, what is "reasonable"? Julie Degen Fort Monroe, VA GSD "Cassie" BC "Radar" GSD "Yankee" JULIE: IN THE 'OLD DAYS' AND STILL VIABLE TO ME IS THE BEST PUPS ARE EQUAL TO THE STUD FEE PAID FOR THE SIRE, AT UNDER 3 MONTHS...AFTER THAT, IT GOES UP DUE TO CARE, FEEDING ETC...AND OBVIOUSLY THE QUALITY OF THE PUP... BUT THAT WAS A RULE OF THUMB IN THE DAYS GONE BY... NOW IT IS 'WHATEVER THE TRAFFIC WILL BEAR'...BARB WILLIAMS ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2006.
