I so agree with this. I think the arrogance of those who have bred a litter
or two, have been around the breed for a few years, etc., has been obvious to
anybody. Those that have thrown pairs together to 'see what they will
produce', discussing the breed as if they have the know all to end all IS
arrogant.
I include myself in those that do NOT know enough!!!! I have had a few
lucky litters, and thank goodness (as in the medical field) I did no harm. 12
years, 3 litters, a lucky breeding or two does not make up for the depth and
quality of those that have been breeding for years and are icons of the breed.
The next question is how to pass that dedication and quality on to the next
generations, when we are in a decade of fast fixes and instant gratification.
Keep talking, keep teaching, maybe some of us will understand it takes more
than a wish to make a dream come true.
