commercial food over raw food?
How do you decide to feed a raw diet and how do you know what is the
best to feed your dog when feeding a raw diet?

Cindy: Kibble has nothing to do with Bloat/Torsion Gastric...Dr.
Glickman and others have confirmed that finding...It is a Matter of
Genetics...If a
Dog is Genetically pre-disposed to Bloat and/or Torsion (Gastric) he or she
can do it on a completely empty stomach /overloaded with water intake/a diet
of whatever ?/. Stress...etc... ...etc. etc.
Please do not rely on Raw Food to prevent Bloat/Torsion (Gastric)... after
studying and researching this problem for many years, I am offering my
personal opinion, backed up by Veterinary Research ...for over 45 years of
Research
and collecting pedigrees on it...It is passed on , as a Dominant with Limited
Penetration...
I wish to all the Fates we had the answer!!!!!!!!!! Bloat/Torsion Gastric
and Mesenteric and Cancer are the leading causes of death in our German
Shepherd Breed... next is Mega-Esophagus and Cardiac.and Spinal Neurological
Disease
and Auto-Immune Diseases... .
and I call on anyone who has experienced Bloat/Torsion (Gastric) to please
submit pedigrees (kept confidential) and any information that may help the
on-going Research...
I have been looking at the Gall Bladder as a possible catalyst,
under-lying cause, but it looks to be a dead-end... so I am back at researching
the
Spleen and the Pancreas...Barb Williams/GSDCA Chairman of the Health & Genetics
