This past Friday, "Steeler" went WD under Lester R. Mapes. Yesterday, he went
Winners and BOB over a Special under Stanley S. Saltzman.

We'd like to thank the GIRLZ of Aramist -- Donna, Olivia and Jamie -- for a job
well done. We especially appreciate the love and dedication that Miss Olivia
has shown toward Steeler. And, we're super happy that it was Miss Olivia who
handled Steeler to his first BOB. You go girl!!!

Almost forgot... Steeler is Eagle Valley's Show Steeler (GV Ch. Wayside's
Honky
Tonk Man x Eagle Valley's Penny Lane.) Steeler's breeder is Dennis Mulligan.

Donna of Louro, aka "Paris," went best of breed on Saturday at the Santa
Barbara Kennel Club show from the open bitch class over three specials AND
handled by me! Lots of fun. This gives her two more points! Hurray.
Thanks for the warm support around the ring.

What if its a bitch and you breed her, if the hernia is like the size of a
quarter, will it tear more once the bitches stomach starts to extend.? Just
curious is others have bred a bitch with a good size umbilical hernia.

Thanks, everyone. The consensus is to leave it alone unless I'm having some
other surgery done and then I might get it repaired.
I appreciate all your comments.

Never had one repaired ....never had a problem.

You only need to watch while the omental fat still slides in and out.....

once that little knuckle of fat scars in, there is not a problem.

Almost 16 years ago I whelped a litter from which I kept a bitch with an
umbilical hernia. When she matured, the hernia was the size of a large
walnut.
She finished from Bred By Exhibitor, and had four litters during her
lifetime. The hernia didn't interfere with anything.
I lose that bitch this past spring...

Her half brother, who was a year younger, had a hernia just like hers...he
was my best stud dog...
the hernia never interfered with him, either.
