The only problem with the questionaires is honesty. Back in the days (many,
many moons ago) when I helped with the Red Book, I remember typing up a stud
dog's page where the owner stated all the problems her dog did not produce
while I personally knew of a litter that had most of them. I quit reading the
comments after that.

I agree, Liz, that we should reintroduce the questionaire back into the Red
Book! And not just with 5 questions! Granted, not all people will answer
honestly, but I think most would and it helps to know these things, especially
when choosing a stud dog for a particular bitch/bloodline. I is always best if
we can make as informed a decision as possible when breeding two dogs together!

Clark County animal control proponents want a law requiring pet owners to
spay or neuter their cats and dogs and fines for those who fail to do so.
Following on the heels of a law to sterilize feral cats, the County
Commission soon will be asked to pass a law that would prohibit residents of
unincorporated Clark County from owning a dog or cat that hasn't been
sterilized unless
the owner has a pet fancier permit or has a medical exemption from a
veterinarian. If a litter is born without this permit, animal control would
take the
puppies or kittens along with the mother.
The ordinance also would require spaying or neutering as young as 3 months
old.
The Silver State Kennel Club, a member of the American Kennel Club, is
circulating a petition to stop the proposal because the animals could be at
risk for
a variety of health problems when sterilized that young.

20 stud dogs & brood bitches. I realize the answers given many times were
vague or misleading but sometimes of enormous value.
What would you think of starting with something like that again? I was
thinking of starting next year with 5 yes or no questions. Does your
dog/bitch
carry or has it produced:
1. blacks
2. coats
3. Megas
4. EPIs
5. torsion ( either stomach, spleenic or messentary)
Any other questions? Must be able to have simple yes or no answers.
Would like some feedback on this.

Okay, I guess I could look this up, but I am always confused about our
relationship to the WDA. It is the GSDCA-WDA, right? Do they have to join

GSDCA proper to belong to the WDA? If they are "part" of the GSDCA, what is
