It's impossible to train in AB shows and win. The same dog with it's spe=

and remarkable sidegait could take the Specialty if you can get it to sta=

Here is a good example of why entries are down. A good dog can show in
either venue and if you can't win at an all breed you need to examine you=

dogs. There are just as many good judges at all breeds as there are bough=

and paid for specialty judges. It always works both ways, good and bad in
either venue.?The question was about how to get more specialty entries,no=

how to talk down to all breed judges or shows. I am totally offended by y=

attitude that someone who shows at all breeds has a lesser dog than your=20
specialty" dog. The German Shepherd dog has one, that is ONE, standard an=

that is the only thing our animals should be judged by. If you truly care=

about our breed you would want the best dog shown at what ever show and y=
ou
wouldn't be so foolish as to say that a dog that shows in an all breed sh=
ow
is less than your dog because you only show at specialties. If your dog c=

only move at breakneck speed, what the heck are you hiding?=0D
Do you realize how many people?who show only at all breeds?say the same
thing about "specialty" dogs? That they couldn't function in the real wor=
ld
or do the job they were bred for? And we all know that is not any more
accurate than your evaluation of a person or their dog,?who only shows at=
an
all breed show. Get over yourself.=0D
"They? haven't a clue.? At AB Shows its anybody game."?? It should be
anyones game. It should be the best dog in the ring that day.=0D
If I want to see quality I will go to either an all breed or specialty
because there are great dogs at both. Look with an honest heart and take
your blinders off. It is not all about your dog it is about the German
Shepherd dog and rather than worrying about what judge will put up your=20
type" of dog, worry about producing a German Shepherd that will be as clo=
se
to the standard as possible and pass that on, because that is a dog that =
can
show in either venue. Side gait is only ONE part of a German Shepherd.
Movement entails a whole lot more than side gait.=0D
Lets face it, a good judge can judge where ever and a poor judge is a poo=
r
judge at a specialty or an all breed show and a good dog can show at eith=
er
type of show.=0D
Show where you want but don't pass judgement on any other dog because of
where they choose to show.=0D
