Speed has nothing to do with working ability..short bursts of speed seen in

herding, are usually available to the dog when they set their mind to it.

I'm so glad you have pointed this out.  And, it occurs to me, that perhaps
the judge who may be criticized for not putting up the best mover .... 
actually did find the best mover, that also had the best temperament.
