If you like cabbage and potatoes, here's a British dish using those,and
butter...........it's yummy, too. This is good as a side dishwith a
roast........ham, corned beef, any beef...Ingredients1 pound boiled and mashed
potatoes1 pound boiled cabbage, drained1 ounce butter (or margarine)Salt and
black pepperInstructionsMelt the butter in a
large saucepan...don't let it burnMash the potatoes and finely chop the
cabbage and mixinto the same .Keep the saucepan over a low heat to keep it hot.
Season to taste and servepiping hot.The mixture can also be put into a greased
oven-proof dish and cooked at400F until the top is browned.some people will
mash up carrots or turnips and add them, tooI usually add chopped onions!!!!
