A friend of ours was rear ended recently when he stopped at a yellow light.
He got out of the car to be met by an enraged driver behind him.. this
driver began yelling at him and jabbing his chest with his forefinger "YOU
ARE NOT TO STOP AT THE YELLOW!! I WANTED TO GO THROUGH THE YELLOW!!"
when the police arrived, he asked the offending driver to describe the
incident.. he told him that our friend had stopped at the yellow and he ran
into him because I was intending on going through. The office said that was
all he needed to know.. <VBG>
On yet another instance, an officer friend of ours stopped an elderly
oriental lady who was weaving in and out of traffic hazardously. he asked to
see her license.. she produced one with a picture of a young man on it. When
he asked her "what is this??" she proclaimed it was the "family license"..
when he asked her to step out of the vehicle he noticed that the gas pedal
was painted green and the brake painted red..
certainly makes you want to define "safe" alright..
