Along this same line, in the German shows they award a rating to all dogs
entered in a class such as SG or V. The judge walks down the line and
congratulates each handler even if he is 13th and last in the class. That way
all
exhibitors receive a rating. I think that keeps exhibitors happy instead of
being down when their dog doesn't place. Jack

I guess you can tell that the people responding are dog show veterans --
don't you remember the feeling when you got your first dog show trophy?
Remember when colors other than purple were important?
We may not care about trophies or rosettes, but when you are a newbie it
is special. It is hard enough for newbies to win - now you want to take that
little symbol of victory away also??? Think about it.
