I have to agree with what Laura wrote. I feel that lack of
advertising in the Review is a direct result of the Review coming out
late,month after month,not to mention the ads that never made it in at
all. It's too expensive,and too important to the owners, to advertise
when you have no assurance of when it will get seen,or maybe not at all.
I have nothing personal against Gail,as she is a very nice gal,but in
spite of her column saying things were going to change,they haven't. As
far as her needing "help",this came up a few months back and it was made
clear that she has assistants and that they weren't asking for anymore
help. Then,you add in months' old show news and you have a lot of fading
interest in the present state of the Review. Maybe they would consider
allowing "contributing field editors" to send in various articles each
month and if they could get the Review back to coming out on time,I
think more people might be willing to advertise again. As far as show
results,I'm not sure what the answer is there,but seeing in December
what happened last April is not getting it anymore. Again,this is
not meant as an attack on Gail. It is just a realistic assessment that
some changes are in order. JMO,Jean
