That was my thought, too. Someone looking for their first GSD isn't going to know the right way to approach a breeder about buying a puppy. At least she's asking a legitimate breeder instead of looking for the cheapest puppy she can find. Maybe she and her son might become interested in junior handling, obedience or conformation with some support and encouragement. We all started some place! "Smart" answers may turn off but also may lose a potential good gsd future owner and maybe even upcoming GSDCA member. If they view the members as snobs, they will probably just go to a byb or even miller. Isn't it better, generally at least, to ask questions, find out what they know and don't know, whether or not they are teachable, have references, refer them to a shelter where they might get a good pet. They may be ignorant but may truly have love for a pet and be a good pet owner and may LEARN.
