As someone who worked for Visa when it was still Bank Americard (over 35yrs
ago) I know that every merchant is charged a fee for handling credit card
charges. The bank also charges fees to the card holders. Unless its a
company or store that does a lot of business and I mean chain store the
store is charged up to 10 percent of the charge. for every 100.00 the store
accepted as payment on a charge card they only got 90.00 from the bank.
this is just an example. If GSDCA is using a clearing house they are
probably paying the percent the bank charges and paying the clearing house
processing it.
