Tom,
No matter where a National is year after year Ca. dominates in the number of
entries in all states.
Yet when it is in Ca. others don't reciprocate.
Well this is a first, you and I see things differently!

There is no doubt that California is a great contributer to some nationals.
However, the numbers have been in for Burbank and Del Mar for a long time,
and
those shows barely outdrew Daytona. The west deserves its equal chance at
hosting the national, but why must that be in California? In fact,
throughout
all of these discussions, the only insistance on any particular state has
been
from California. The rest of the country seems satisfied to have nationals
within driving distance.
I guess I will never understand some of the thinking I've seen offered on
this subject. Should we start with California, and then be "inclusive" by
giving
a national to every state? Just think, if we did that then in a mere fifty
years we will all have seen the whole country ... unless of course for some
reason you actually couldn't afford to make that trip to Hawaii or Alaska.
