[ SHOWGSD-L ] recollections from an aging mind

Thanks Paula for a good excuse.....or maybe its the chemo, who knows.
1. Met Robert Redford in a great restaurant by Notre Dame Cathedral in
Paris. He was eating at the next table. Nice guy, had a pleasant chat with
him.
Like Pam, I might have asked him to run away with me but I was with my
husband and my mother.
2. Used to babysit the lead guitar in the group Meatloaf. His name is Rory
Dodd. He and his very musical family lived kitty corner from me in Port
Dover, Ontario, Canada.
3. Used to babysit hockey star Bill Walmsley. He was the goalie for the
Toronto Maple Leafs for several years, then went to the Montreal Canadians.
4. Almost ran off with Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues at Maple Leaf
Gardens in Toronto in the 70.s Snuck backstage and bumped into him....he
asked
who I was looking for and told him he would do....he said ok, see you after
the show! Heart be still! (too chicken to try to find him after)
5. Know the man personally who backed the writer of Dirty Dancing to
produce the movie. He is an old friend of John's here in Beaumont, Dr. Tom
Lombardo.
6. Had breakfast at the Hotel Fort Garry in Winnipeg with Burton Cummings
of the group Lighthouse. Another nice guy.
7. Assisted with security for Pope John Paul II trip to Midland Ontario Can
at the Martyr's shrine.
8. Assisted with security for Princess Margaret and the Queen Mom at their
cottage in Bala, Ontario, Can. The Princess used us to make many trips to
the liquor store for her.....
Guess that's about it......
