Never gets cold enough to need them. We have thick rubber horse mats in the front of the runs for padding insulation from the cold. Usually store them in the summer, but it is a job as they weigh 80 pounds each. The runs are 6' x 24'. If the wind blows REALLY cold, we have cantilevered doors that completely close each run except for a dog door, We can raise or lower them as necessary. The roof is 24 ft above, allowing us to catch as much cool breeze as possible in the summer, while allowing the heat to dissipate and not be trapped. we also have a 8 foot fan at one end that we use in the stil of summer, and a misting system. Keeping dogs cool is the most important thing in south Texas. Carol **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance.
