At a time when so many other places in Texas are trying to do what they can
to nearly ban domestic pets, our local authorities are working with some
devoted dog people to create a dog park in Beaumont. At the present time
they
have set aside an area of a park and committed $40,000 to fencing it off from
the rest of the park. The local council is soliciting funds from
surrounding areas to subsidize this too.
I mentioned last week our mayor is trying to do what she can to ensure our 4
footers are respected and have a place in everyone's hearts......wish there
were more like her. There is a group of around 100 dog people that are
working with the locals and meeting at different parks each month to
"introduce"
their dogs on leash to each other and interested people in the parks. A very
positive step.............
