Preposterous !!!!
If you eliminate our successful breeder/exhibitors from the
judging community, you sentence us to AB level judging. Now,
this is not to say that ALL ab judges are bad nor that ALL breeder/
exhbitor judges are good. However, perhaps you should examine
the difference. Most breeder/ exhibitor judges have kept up with
the progress made in the breed over many years. Most are honest,
and there is not one thing you can do about the few who are back-
acratchers anyway. OTOH, most of those who quit breeding and
exhibiting also quit learning. When that accurs, it's all over and
we are left with those "old codger" AB-type judges who have quit
learning about our breed (if they ever did know it ). Breeding and
exhibiting keeps one actively learning all the time. Why would we
want someone judging our breed who has lost the incentive to know
as much as possible about every aspect. Think of it years down the
road------Will someone who lost that incentive fifteen years ago be
able to be an astute judge ? I am sure he would not. I also know
that there are exceptions, that we have some wonderful judges
who no longer breed or exhibit for reasons mostly of advancing
age, but they still are actively involved and attend as many shows
as possible, still with a breeder/exhibitor perspective.

This presents an unfair advantage. However I will admit that the large
majority of judges that show are exceptions to this. I believe that the vast
majority of judges are honest. It is those in minority that exchange favors to
win that make fools of exhibitors who simply make majors for them.
