Oh come on Jack, you can't possibly mean the bitch's owner is "is someone
who lacks knowledge or adequate information to form a reliable opinion".
This is an individual whose first dog died and now the replacement has
epilepsy. The dog has been thoroughly vetted. A BAD happened. We've all
been
there, most of us on both ends (owner and breeder and sometimes breeder
and owner). It's no fun any way you look at it, in fact it just plain sucks
for all involved.
I sincerely doubt the dog was hit on the head, over vaccinated or overdosed
w/ a toxic substance.

And she's absolutely correct. I feel badly for all involved. That's not
something we want to experience as an owner and not a phone call we want

Hey Jack explain what pure ignorance means. I think I have a few students

Thank you all for contributing to this thread, especially, Diane
Silver-Strasser, and Ken and Kathy Tank....In my opinion, they are
best-describing the essence of this ongoing discussion and providing the
bigger picture on the ignorance (meant in its purest form) of the original
post. They are also speaking with experience - from a breeder's
perspective
and they have walked the talk.
Why post harmful information, naming names and insinuating a genetic link
when indeed we KNOW for FACT injuries, illness and vaccinations have been
the cause of epilepsy ?
Sheesh! Those of us who know and trust breeders like Evan and Tedi (and
so
many others) do so because we believe they do the best they can to share
FACTS at Asgard if and when they are pertinent to other people's world.
"Outing" (and for that matter, false, wrongful-outing) really has no place
in this world. Remember there are always "people" attached to our beloved
breed. I worry not about the dog mentioned in the post - he'll measure up
(or not) in the eyes of others. I do always feel for the hearts of the
people - try to be respectful and kind and if you're unable to do so, try
at
the very least to walk away from your computer.

Oh, ok. However, the dog still could have been injured by a third party or
hit its head some other way. I had a dog years ago that got in a fight with
another bitch. They went under the house and she hit her head. About 30
minutes later she had a siezure. Fortunately it was the only one.
