According to a 2003 study by Dr Gegard Lipert and Bruno Sappy in
Belgium, it was shown that dogs fed non-commercial food lived an
average of 32 months longer than dogs fed commercial food. There
were around 522 dogs studied over 5 years. There was no distinction
as to what non-commercial food was fed. It could have been prey
model raw, BARF, any other raw diet, or cooked food. No distinction
was made between commercial kibble and commercial canned food.
