Okay - I spoke my piece on raw, but after giving it more consideration.. What is the likely hood that the puppy(ies) in question were maybe fighting some little bacterial infection or a virus at the same time? I don't see where the meat would cause a huge issue in an otherwise healthy puppy, but if the pup were fighting something like coccidia, giardia or a bug that big dog brought home from a dog show, his little immune system would be already compromised , therefore allowing any future "bugs" to take over. Did the vet do any further bloodwork to see if there was an underlying problem, or did he stop when he came up with his result of e.coli and assume it was just that? Just curious (and trying to look at a possible alternative answer)...
