Concerning legislation being presented in Vermont to ban ear cropping, NO, ear cropping is not eminent in our breed's future. But any erosion of rights as it concerns dog ownership is worthy of notice. Much law is of course, built using precedent. When one infringement on those rights is made into law, the forcing through of the next infringement is easier. Regardless on what side of the debate about ear cropping, docking you come down on there is an ultimate agenda to usurp ownership rights and in this case, the management of our personally owned animals. In my opinion making a veterinarian a criminal for cropping ears is ridiculous especially in view of what is legal and even applauded in human medicine.
