Blinds can
be set up indoors if the arena is large enough. SV style
shows are done mainly at a walk pulling into the lead and
after lots of this dogs are shown off lead at a fast trot
for short distance. the protection phase of the of working
dog class is just a small portion of what the IPO
trial's protection portion would be. It is generally
held the day before the working dogs are individually
examined. "WORKING" in this case means 24 months
and older with approved titles (IPO/SchH). The VA and V
ratings can only come from this class.
So I am not sure where you think
they "run fast" unless you are talking about a
trial where they generally run the blinds fairly fast and of
course the attack on the back side helper. Tracking is very
controlled and certainly not at a run. Working trials are
not the conformation shows. Only the Sieger shows have the
"courage test" where bite work is required as part
of the working class while other conformation shows do not
require any protection although all of them have gun tests
in adult classes.Ruth

the dogs and 74 countries involved the members that show at the Sieger Shows
in the
European countries dogs nor spectators would be able to fit indoors.
They work there dogs in Conformation, Protection, Etc. doubt
they could get the blinds, etc. inside.
The Sieger German GSDs run at top speed in the working
trials while the GSDCA Shows the GSD at a trot.
Yes, in Performance GSDs run at times but not at the speed
the German GSDs do at their shows.
The Westminster Dog Show and All-Breed Shows GSDs show
indoors not on grass turf.
