Interesting idea. However, there are a lot of reasons our National has been
and should be in the fall. That time seems to be best for most dogs coats.
Nobody would want to do the National in late spring or summer when many of our
dogs are hairless! Plus too late into spring and then summer and it's too hot
to fly dogs. We cannot, or should not, be too close to the Canadian National
which is usually in early to mid September. Obviously Winter is out. So
that leaves October/November.

Is the only reason the National is so late is because of the multiple
uturities? And can it not be in September because of the Canadian National?
Maybe that is a reason to look at overhauling the Futurity system - so that you
pen yourself up for more available venues.
