[ SHOWGSD-L ] prices for prescriptions for dogs-vet vs pharmacy

Just wanted to tell everyone-
I was given a prescription for tramadol for one of my dogs from my vet.
Figuring that it would be cheaper to get at the pharmacy, I took it to Rite
Aid here (central NY state) and for 90 pills--they wanted $68.00--I was NOT
a happy camper-and I did NOT get the meds there-I told them that that
sounded a bit expensive-this is just a pain med--not some fancy cancer
drug--why
is it so expensive?? Well that is their price. I talked to my vet the
next day--and guess what-I can (and did) get it from her for
$10.00--yes--TEN dollars--vs the SIXTY-EIGHT that the drug store wanted.
INSANE !!!
Then I called Walmart--and I can get it there for only $6.00--yes--SIX
dollars.
I called Rite Aid back and told them--and well--that is their price. That
is just the way it is.
Needless to say, I will not be getting prescriptions filled there any more
and I told them so.
Lesson learned--make sure you check out the prices on your meds before you
pay for them--sure was a big savings for me.
Just wanted everyone to know.
