hi all, has anyone out there experienced having an older dog get pneumonia, with a high fever, that keeps going up and down (indicating infection is not getting better), and come out of it successfully? We have a 10 year old that came down with pneumonia and after 3 days at the vet, the vet called to say his fever spiked overnight, and he's been on fluids and antibiotics. The vet said he'd have to stay at the hospital for at least another week and that he would have months of recuperation, because of the damage to his lungs, with no guarantee that he would thrive afterwards. I think we know what to do, but I wanted to know if anyone out there has ever had the happen and what the results were. Thanks for listening, we are heartbroken.
