If your dog was standing in show pose, how could he even think of charging a
sitting fee?

I share your pain....I had a situation similar but just a little bit
different...the photographer sent me one proof photo ...very small (it think
you
call it wallet size) which was awful...he did not even send me a normal size
print...BUT not only was the proof awful, on his invoice it was stated that
even if I did not want to purchase it, I still had to pay a sitting fee of
$25.00...I was incensed...when he originally took the photos, there was no
mention of OR a sign stating that there was a sitting fee if you did not
purchase
a photo...I of course told him his sitting fee was not only ridiculous but
illegal as he had not previously stated that if you asked for a photo of your
dog to be taken, that there would be a sitting fee...I have had a ton of
photos taken of my bitch by numerous photographers and this was the first time
that I had even heard of this sitting fee...and have never encountered it
since....Now Photographers before you start telling me about the cost of
photographing a dog and about how many people do not buy photos etc etc...This
was the
ONLY time I did not purchase a photo that was taken of any of my dogs...Also
I do not have a problem with whatever someone chooses to charge...BUT I do
want to know about MANDATORY charges UP FRONT. Incidentally, I told that
photographer that not only did he take a bad photo and I had no intentions of
purchasing it but I was also not going to pay his "sitting" fee either...I
received several past due notices from him after that..and even collection
letters
stating that I had purchased a photo and was refusing to pay for it ( A
LIE)...I did contact the collection agency and told them the true situation and
stated that I had no intentions of paying for something that I did not
purchase...I did not hear from them after that..For the record, the photos were
taken at a specialty show, this was a "professional" photographer. I did
write
the specialty club president and explained the situation and suggested that in
future they not hire this person again OR to include either in the premium
list or the catalogue that there was a mandatory sitting fee...but I DID NOT
get a response from the club..oh well...I will share the photographer's name
