I just got through telling you we placed two large males in BOTH situations I mentioned. The blind fellow got our dog through San Rafael ( years ago ) and they specifically were looking for a large male for him.......NOT a "longer handle" <G> The lady with the neurological problems specifically needed a large male. I think I am being "realistic" as this was two needs we were able to help with .....and with large males....... with no issues .... <G> Carolyn marhaven@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.Marhaven.com Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: oversized males Be realistic. How many 7 foot tall people are there? Really? I use a service dog, my male is 27" tall, but a 25-26" dog would still work well. Anything smaller than that and there would be issues. And for a guide, you really don't necessarily need a taller dog...just a longer handle. If the dog is supposed to do brace work, that is an entirely different animal. -- Jackie & Marcato German Shepherds ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2010.
