The best place to learn about other breeds is to spend an afternoon at a
all-breed show and watch the "best of the best" in the Group rings. That is
also the best place to see Terriers pulled out to spar by the judge.
I really love all dogs, purebred and mutts, and never cease to be amazed at how
much there is to learn about other breeds. I have recently added the
Affenpinscher, the Australian Cattle Dog, the Swedish Valhund, and the Doberman
Pinscher to my favorites list, which includes all 3 Poodle varieties, Great
Danes, and Chihuahuas. If I were younger, I would definitely want to work with
a Black Russian Terrier.
Lately, of course, I am immensely enjoying watching our favorite breed in the
Herding Group ring! :-) :-)
My Bucket List is pretty full, and I know I will never fulfill ALL of my
dreams, but, I darned well will keep trying, learning, and enjoying as long as
possible. Dogs Rule!!

now that I understand-what "sparring" is---I am trying to figure out how in
over 20 years of going to dog shows I have NEVER seen this done?????
Have I NEVER watched a terrier class?? Duhhhhh..
I dont know-I am not a terrier person, but I do think the Kerry blues are
rather pretty--& it seems I MUST have watched a class at some point in the past
many years-guess I didnt watch that closely. hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Well, as long as they never want to do this with GSD's !!!!!
Would definately be a disaster.
