If the committee simply adds an e-mail address to the form that it requires all candidates to submit, then one group e-mail to everyone who took the time to submit information could be sent to everyone simultaneously, announcing the slate. I know Paul wasn't bothered by this year's procedure, but perhaps that's because he's on the slate. As someone who was asked to submit paperwork I was annoyed to read the slate on the list before I was personally notified by the committee that I was not on the slate. That only happened because some folks were notified before others, and that is not a considerate way to do business. JMO...
