Yes, as I know of GSDs that were Penn-Hip at a year good with no
problems to later not OFA with HD pups as well as bad hips themselves.
OFA is the best way to go in the USA if you want reliable results. Yes, there
are dogs that show up with poor, fair, good and excellent hips so you take your
chances. However, most breeders I know just don't post if they did not get a
passing grade on hips and elbows on their dogs. If you want to know what
grade a dog got all you need to do is go into the OFA site and check by
their name or Registration number. If the results are not there you can either
believe they
were never tested or results were not revealed.
